Drama and Acting

This is my most favorite category, as I love to draw a variety of expressions and portray all sorts of emotions through the characters I draw. It is the most fun part when I get to the facial features because it enables me to be much closer to the characters and the way they feel inside.

I tried to depict different types of characters which vary in personality, traits and shape, but a vast majority of them are inspired from the Romanian folklore as it is very dear to me.

My character, Krilli, is a rather small being that lives around ponds and lakes or in the humid side of forests. He does not know or understand why he is there and why he is so different than anyone else, thus leading to him being marginalized. He finds solace in his only friend, a fluffy spider.  Because Krilly dwells mostly in loneliness he had time to reflect upon many things and is prone to be a good observer, noticing many interesting details and the beauty in every life form, unlike others. He will one day begin his journey to discover who he is and learn about his own beauty on the way.

Face research for a king design.

Alvaro and Rienne are two major characters of another project of mine that I have recently begun to contour in my mind. I always wanted to explore the dynamics between the villain and hero/heroine/protagonist from other perspectives and I wish to put these two in a wide set of events that would reveal their complexity as characters, that is far beyond binary colors.

I love to draw faces and I often experiment with various shapes and expressions.

The following one is my version of Giacomo Casanova, the most famous and notorious lover in Venice.
I tried to depict his exuberance and the delight he felt when he took part of carnivals and also when he had the chance to court the women he was fond of.

My interpretation of Harap Alb, the main protagonist of one of the greatest Romanian folk tales, which is about the symbolic journey to another world and implicitly to maturity and spiritual evolution and complexity. The first scene is from the prologue when the young prince is called by an old poor woman who asks him to give her a coin. She is in fact the embodiment of a supernatural being representing wisdom and caring, called "Sfanta Dumineca", who sees in him "the Chosen One" and her mission was to test his moral qualities, a crucial step in becoming the ideal Emperor after his journey.
The second scene depicts the ending after Harap Alb is revived and achieves the condition of becoming Emperor/King and is crowned by his grotesque friends he's made along his journey. They all are embodiments of satiric human flaws portrayed in a humorous manner (cold, elongation, hunger and thirst to name some).
